Who Uses Maryland Relay:
The Deaf/Blind

QUESTION: I'm a deaf and blind person. Can relay work for me?

ANSWER: A person who is DeafBlind can make phone calls using Telebraille equipment.

Telebraille: Relay users with impaired vision often use special TTYs equipped with Telebraille. To access the Maryland Relay, dial 1-800-735-2258.

Text Pacing: This feature is specific to Telebraille users. In short, the OPR will slow the rate of typing received. The message comes across at a rate that allows the user to achieve a more readable rhythm with the relay service. Please put this preference in your Customer Profile.

Telebraille users are strongly encouraged to set up a
Customer Profile.
